While the couple is all set to welcome their first kid, there were speculations that the actress had converted to Islam and officially changed her name to Faiza back in 2017, hey they were getting married.
Their traditional nikah ceremony became the talk of the town as it was an interfaith marriage and reports of Dipika converting to Islam had started to do the rounds on the internet. Amidst all the speculation a picture of their wedding invitation had gone viral, where ‘Shoaib Ibrahim Weds Faiza’ was printed. However, a spokesperson close to the couple had gone on to clarify that the actress has used the name Faiza only for the wedding invitation. She had neither converted her religion nor her name. BollywoodLife had quoted the source saying, “She has not converted her religion. Her name is Dipika Kakar only. She will change it to Dipika Ibrahim. I spoke to them personally. The couple who shot to fame with their show Sasural Simar Ka, got married in an intimate wedding with just family members and close friends in attendance. They announced their current pregnancy earlier in January. During an interview, Shoaib had opened up about Dipika going through a miscarriage. He had said, “Last year, yeh sab apko pata nahi hai. Humne discuss nai kara tha. Last 2022 Feb end ya March ke as paas miscarriae hua tha. Us waqt 6-7 week pregnancy thi Dipika jab miscarriage hua tha. And uske baad Dipika ki health bhi deteriote hui thi.”
